Walked through Cabela's yesterday, wanted a few nocks. Started looking over their pop up blinds. Could not find a single one with shoot through mesh. Just windows you had to open.
I've used pop up blinds for 20 years, always with shoot through window mesh with no issues.
Just puzzled why their not selling them that way now.

Mine has shoot through mesh, but I never had the guts to try it. Hard to believe it wouldn't deflect an arrow

Folks want to dress like Ninjas nowadays, all black. With a back background inside the blind (which makes for a really hot and heavy blind) the hunter is difficult to see. But critters still pick up movement.
Mesh works better, IMO, and is a lot more comfortable and allows one to wear normal clothes. Been shooting through mesh screens for about 20 years without any problems. It's a positive selling point for me. Doubt I'd buy a blind that didn't offer mesh windows, unless it would be fairly easy to install your own mesh.

I did some testing on the mesh when it first came out. Had no problem hitting what I was aiming at.
I started to think how it worked. Set up paper and shot a very under spined arrow through the mesh and then the paper. I wouldn't say the paper rip was perfect, but a lot better after going through the mesh.

But...but...I thought that one of the reason's why using a crossbow "isn't bowhunting", was because the deer can't see you draw the bow? How's this any different? They can't see you draw the bow in the screened blind either?
(For the record, I have no problem with ANY kind of bow that shoots a sharp blade on an arrow propelled by energy stored in drawn limbs, and there's no explosions of any kind....air or combustibles....involved.)

woods really you don't draw a crossbow at least not the ones i've seen. you still have to draw and hold the weight even with a compound. i got a big problem with those scoped crossguns

I don't think the OP wanted an argument on crossbows, there are plenty of other useless threads for that both past and present.

Another related question.....
Those of you that shoot through mesh blinds, do you practice that way also? I would think that anything that might affect the arrow flight (if it indeed does) would be something that you'd want to know as much about as possible.

Try a shot with the set-up you are using, should tell you all you need to know. I might have gotten a bit excited one time and my shot went through the blind itself.....NO problem, the doe was down in seconds! Never had a problem shooting through the netting with 2 blade non-mechanical heads.

I've shot through screen plenty of times, know lots of folks that do it, personally I don't care for it. Screws with my depth perception to much.I hunt form ground blinds pretty much exclusively with open windows. Never had an issue, but I keep them small and brushed in around the window to break up the outline. No issues.
