My cousin is wanting to sell this bow and I would like to buy it but neither of us knows alot about them. Any input would certainly help

I have no idea of monetary value. Seriously I'm horrible at it. But, I can say that when it was built in 1965, they sold for around $150. Rosewood risers were slightly more. That's around $1200 currently with inflation.

Great bows, got any more pics?

It's worth what ever you're willing to pay, and whatever he is willing to accept.

It's not a collectable. You can get an idea by looking up past sales on the auction site.

225$ Maybe

They only sold for $150. I would say $35

20 bucks but I would pay you 40

Inflation only applies if the item is still made today as to add in increased wages, cost of goods/materials, etc. Metal riser Black Widows are worth what someone will pay. That bow hasn't been made for near 40 years with an aluminum riser and they were about $150.00 new.

Look at the limbs to be sure there is no twist. There is not a large market for that style old Widow. In my experience and without seeing more photos, I'd say maybe $100-$150 max. but more photos would help give a more accurate evaluation.

The x200 normally would sell between 200-300.00 on ebay depending on condition. It could be less for a beater and more for something mint. Like others have said though, its worth what someone will pay and somone will sell for.

Shawn and kyphil provided some good answers. It does not matter one bit what something sold for 40 or 60 years ago. A second generation colt single action sold for 125.00 new in the box--- in the same condition today you can expect to get between 2500.-3000. It just depends on how desireable the item is. Checking out similar sales, as stated is good advice.

It does matter when you want to talk inflation. Collectibility is not inflation, it's a desire to own something that is of value in one's own mind or to a specific collector. Yes the price may be driven higher, but not because it cost more to manufacture it due to labor and material.

The metal risers are not setting the world on fire when it comes to the old Black Widow. If you have one mint, in the box, then it will get more attention. If you're not sure, then put it on Ebay and run it as an auction. If indeed it has value, that's where you'll find out by letting folks bid on it to drive the price up. Just randomly putting a high dollar price on it because you think it is special likely will keep it from selling at all. Even collectors still want to get a fair price but will pay if they think someone else may outbid them.

The bow market changes by the week nowadays, and there are dang few people who can predict what a bow will bring.

One fuzzy picture does not tell us much.

I collect Wilson Brothers bows and I could not begin to determine a value from that.

I'd call blackwidow and with the serial number they can give you all the info about it how old and stuff and approx what its worth...

Good luck getting a bow company to speculate on a price for one of their old bows. They will certainly have the year for you.

Thanks much for the info. I will call Black widow and see what they say.

I've seen them appraised at $20 a barrel-full.

I'd call Widow.

I bought one about 10 years ago. It had a slightly twisted limb which straightened easly. I paid 125. I'd buy another for that price.
