This is a custom bow made from Eastern hop hornbeam aka ironwood. It has a willow-leaf profile, similar to an American flatbow. The bow is 68" long and pulls 50#@29" It's backed with western diamondback skins and stained with leather dye. The handle is leather with kangaroo lace and the string is D97 with muskrat fur silencers.

Gorgeous. I love the lines and the look. I have an ironwood stave up in the shed, along with a few ash. That ironwood doesn't look easy to work! I'm going with the ash presently for my fist attempt... but I know that ironwood could be a fine shooting bow when if I can get it close to right.
Yours is a fine example of (highly) functional art.

Another fine stick Weylin. I think that's the first HHB I've ever seen you work. Wondering what your thoughts are? Did you have to do any heat straightening? Personally I think it's a fine bow wood but a bit harder to work with than Osage. Especially heat corrections. Just doesn't cooperate like osage. Still a fine wood and you did that one proud.
