A little ten-yard bale work, if you could call it that, lol
I draw, let down. May shoot the next time? Draw, move in and out of the anchor, let down. Draw, do a figure 8 on the target (Jay Kidwell taught me that on the phone ten years ago or so) and let down. May allow myself to shoot next time, never plan it, just relax and enjoy. I love it! Shalom
Yes brother, and I need to work on both sides of the back and balanced pulling I see. I have not shot but 50 or so arrows this year and see I have the reflex drop in my Bow arm I need to work out again. Happens every year and I have to work it out by squeezing my shoulder blades together. My left arm has less than half the muscle left in it from a bad injury several years ago at work which almost caused me to lose it. Thanks be to the Most High I still have it. Shalom
Sarge, I think you and I discussed it once before. When I was having TP/shot control problems try to creep in Gary Sentman told me to go stump shooting and never release an arrow.
Nock the arrow, draw aim, and let down. Just random targets. Sure does work for me and I still do it to this day.
Gary was right on fdp, and no doubt with a Bowman like he is for sure. I need a lot of work, have neglected my Archery all summer and have missed out on so much good therapy it provides me. The Bow and Arrow is magic medicine for the soul fdp. Shalom
Good video Sam, doing what you are doing in the video has helped me a lot. You may want to take your dog to the vet, looks like he is having a seizure.
Thanks for sharing this video . Tp still sometimes creeps back into my shooting in the form of short drawing . I will definitely give that a try . never ceases to amaze me how the simplest of things never occur to me until I see someone else doing them .
I am doing this as well but only use one arrow and concentrate on alignment full extension/ and expansion. The back part -I need a coach I’m afraid . I maybe getting it right or maybe not.
FDP & Sarge: its always nice when I can pass on words of experience to help someone out when shooting the bow. I, myself, have been doing really well with my target panic for a couple of years now. I dropped down to a bow around 56# pull which has helped. However, I went to the Eagle Cap shoot out of LaGrande, OR, this summer and the first day I shot my 60# bow. I really shot over my head. The next day of the shoot I again took my 60# bow and made one big mistake, I allowed a score card and pencil so I could keep my score. Just like an alcoholic that dries up and then allows that one drink I fell immediately back into freezing, unable to get to my anchor point, snap shooting etc. Target panic was back. I haven’t gone to an archery shoot since and I am having a hard, slow time getting back to good shooting. Of course there are two things that I stay away from right now. A heavy bow and don’t keep score. Good hearing from you guys. Hope all is going well. Moosejaw Gary Sentman
