I've only sprayed CE Predator shafts but never had a problem.

I never had any luck trying to dip CE Trad shafts. I did everything you did as well. I ended up not dipping carbons, just could not get an even coating. I even bought new paint, new tube, made sure shafts and paint were warm. Finally ran out of ideas. I tried GT and Beman as well, no luck. Only thing I didn’t try was a base dip of clear. That might work? I see Bohning is offering waterbased paints on their website. Those might work? I haven’t seen any comments about those products yet. Oh yes, I have gone to spray paint or wraps for carbons.

I know you said you clean them, but go nuts on them. I had some traction complaints a couple years ago with the new CX shafts on my cresters. I called 3-R to get some test shafts to try and solve the issue. While talking to them I was told they were having a hard time getting wraps to stick until they REALLY, REALLY, cleaned them.

We went through a similar issue with Easton aluminum shafts several years ago. We could not get any type of glue to adhere to the shafts for the fletching or nocks until I started cleaning them with acetone. A good cleaning with acetone solved that issue.

Kent: Is there a visible seam on the shaft length wise? I would almost bet there is a vinyl wrap on them.
