After thousands of shots my 54-55 static tip Grizz called it quits this evening at full draw. For its age this was one of cleanest old Grizzlies I've seen, but the old glue finally gave out. No injuries other than a whelt on the forearm and a small cut on the hand. So long old friend, you'll not be forgotten but........given the chance you'll be replaced.

Never had one turn loose at full draw before and it's an experience I won't soon forget. I've got and had of vintage bows over the years and this is one of the few catistrophic failures I've ever had. Now I've got an excuse to tell my wife so i can start looking for another one.

Fdp, that's my philosophy as well and I enjoy every arrow I release out my vintage bows and always will.

That piece of wood has been releasing kinetic energy for 65 years. That is amazing to me, that there is that much energy stored in a skinny piece of lumber like that and a wonder they don't fail much sooner. Congrats on a long life with her, sorry she had to say goodbye... TK

Had a few go on me like that over the years due to age and probably how the former owners stored them. Glad there were no injuries.

I have a old 46 pounder lookin for a good home. PM me if interested and I'll ship her to you. I got a bunch of bows that I don't use anymore and I'll probally never use it. I'd like to see it go somewhere where somebody's going to shoot it.

It's got a spot that I filled with super glue just in case but she's a shooter. Pretty good shape for a oldie.

I'm always humbled by the generosity of those on this site, my appreciation and gratitude for the offers of kindness. As a family, although a disfunctional one at times, it don't get any better than the traditional archery community. Paul
