I pad the strings with a yarn wrap. Never put anything in the grooves.

Pad string with yarn or velcro in the string grooves. The velcro works better in my opinion.

I do what mahantango does on all my longbows. It may cut down on noise; I only noticed it on two bows that I can recall. And I do it as much to eliminate wear on the nock grove, which I saw started on a used bow I bought. The yarn wrap halted any further wear.

I've done all of the above with ok results. Lately I've been putting felt furniture pads at the end of the string groove where I feel the string would slap or vibrate. I think this works ok as well.

Where most string slap noise comes from is the area from where the string loses contact with the limb a couple inches toward the center. Cushioning here on the limb or string deals with it effectively on most recurves.

I've done both. Have velcro on now. Both seem about the same to me.

It goes against my upbringing to put unnecessary weight on my limb tips. I don’t use anything.

I'm with felipe and camodave, I prefer nothing on the string or the limb tips.
