It's caused by the way your hand contacts your face with the different tabs designs. Same as with changing from tab to glove. I don' use anything but a Barbee type tab or a hair tab (which is leather by the way it just has a different material for the face) I make myself.

The hair doesn't blow off the tab if it's made correctly and the hair is facing the right direction. I've got hair tabs that I've been shooting for a number of years and I shoot just about every day.
