For the first time this year I managed to complete a full Field round of 112 arrows, last time I had to quit after 3 targets.

I actually shot pretty decent for the first 21 targets but pain and fatigue caught up with me(pain in Ribs, lower Back and Legs), and every target from then on I had at least one miss, I could have quit but I dug deep and continued to the end, it was quite satisfying to finish. Took me 3 days to recover lol

That sounds like good news to me. Keep plugging away. Praying for a full recovery.

That's great Stephen, especially for what you have been through. Baby steps.

I will add that there aren't a whole lot of folks here who know what a field archery round takes in energy. It's far from a 30 arrow 3D round at 4 arrows per target with 28 targets. Add to that some practice arrows and it's not a cake walk by any stretch.

Before I was diagnosed I booked and paid for EFAC (Euro Field Archery champs) this coming Aug, I think 5 days shooting is going to be a bit much for me, although I hoped to be in better health and fitness by now but the pain is making slow progress for my recovery. I'm working a few days a week now, morale has improved although some days are hard.

The plan for EFAC is to keep going until my body tells me "That's enough" if I can get to day 3 of the Animal round I will be very happy. The main goal is just to enjoy and see some of my UK/European friends as very likely it will be my last international competition, one main reason is I cannot get travel insurance, I will take the risk in Europe if I'm feeling well enough but it's not worth traveling further afield and then taking a turn for the worst.

Thanks for the encouragement

Just visit and enjoy yourself if the shooting becomes too much. Take care, >>>>-----> Ken

Progress, that is great, just look at it this way, going to Europe for a vacation and sight seeing and maybe get a few rounds in at the archery site.

Good luck and have fun!!!!
