I'm shooting Axis 600s with bronze and 100gr for 50# and Axis black 700s with alum and 100 (I think) for 40#.

The 50# is good, but liking the way those heavy 600s with bronze fly and group for the 40# bow for close shots (too stiff otherwise).

Wondering about other shafts and possible heavier front end for the 40# ILF.

Forget "Dark Timber" ...they're coming in July (from China according to EBay).

What carbons do you like?

Shooting Victory V-Force 245's, the cheap .006 tolerance shafts. They come with standard .244-245 nocks and inserts. Ugly graphics but who cares?

(I sometimes change out the nocks for 'Super' nocks.)

At $70 a dozen for shafts, the occasional wild flyer doesn't break my heart ;-)

Dark timber 340s on my 56# with 235gn up front. " " 500s on my 42# with 135gn up front.

Fly great, light on the wallet, and just about the only arrows long enough for me.

I have several i shoot. Warrior 700, black eagle outlaw 700, cx recurve pro 650, carbon tech whitetail xp 650, victory v1 target elite 700, beman centershot 600. What i use most are the cx recurve pro 650 as theyre 5.3gpi and guaranteed straightness of .0025 the entire length of the shaft, not just 28" like other manufacturers. Pricey, but they shoot well out of every setup i have.

I shoot the lowly 20 40 predators with 100 gr. field points for 3 d and indoor. I shoot them out of a 35lb BP Barron,35 lb. Hoyt Gold Medalist, and a 35lb. Samick Sage.Even though they are .006 out they work fine for me.
