A question for you folks that shoot heavy broadheads—I’m talking like 260 to 300 grains.

How much weight are you shooting? What spine and length arrows are you shooting?

Beginner,

IIRC, isn't the Carbon Express 250 actually a .400 spine shaft?

35 pounds, but Hex8's not conventional 35 pounds. ACC .500 30 inches long and 285 grain tip arrow weight 590.

WOW, that's almost 17 grains per pound. Didn't realize.

Yes, I believe the 250 carbon express is a 400 spine shaft. This 250 is the Maxima by Matthews and is suppose to be weight forward and stiffer in the first half and weaker in the back half. There is a coating of something that seems to stiffen the front half.

I shoot .500 spine with 250 upon front, including adaptor and insert, out of bows in the 45# range, and .400s with 300 grains up front for 50# or a little more.

I switched from 200 grain trade points to a 50 grain outsert and 200 grain Grizzlystik Silverflame. Flight is great
