Ive been shopping blinds for shooting my long bows. There are not a lot of options that present a real shooting choice. I did see the one from cabelas that has a complete top to bottom door in the front you ca shoot from. Im consodering it BUT the reviews are saying the QC is bad.

I made a screen-type blind on the cheap last year, using a roll of camo material from Walmart, and plastic fence posts from Tractor Supply, and some zip-ties. Worked ok, but bulky to carry into the woods. I have been considering a Ghost Blind this year.

The new NAP looks like it would work. Ron LeClair had one on his website that would work. Can’t remember the name.

Baronnett Big Cat. Best I've come across. Was shooting a 68" longbow pretty easily.

I’ve made a few like Jeff describes, but used the fiberglass driveway markers used to show snowplows the borders. They’re orange so I rattle canned them with matte Camo colors.

To be mobile, I used the Flextone field Hunter blind for $80. It is very light weight. I cut out a little of the front panel and sewed a band around the cut out with a large needle and waxed bow string to give the material support and to keep it from ripping. A lot of work but makes a great shield to get behind. I used the webbed strap that goes around the tree from a climbing harness around the cut. I did this on the inside toward where it sit.p

I think I would’ve left those driveway markers orange! They look grey to the deer, and unless you have a particular need to remain undetected by other humans, there’s nothing wrong with a little bit of a safety factor.
I do find it particularly amusing that a lot of states require a certain amount of blaze orange “for safety“.... but you’re allowed to wear it inside of a fully enclosed blind…

can always elevate the blind... I did that this year on a turkey hunt. I got in... and realized "I can't pull my bow back." Got out... drug some logs up... and I was able to sit and NOT kill any turkey knowing that I was able to draw my bow.

I like the Barronett Big Mike XT.
Plenty of room to be very comfortable, and shoot just about any length bow.
The fabric they use isn't the greatest, but it will last just fine if not left out for any real long periods of time, but the construction & framework are superb.
I have two of them, that are several years old. I leave them set out year round, so the fabric has faded & ripped, but they are still standing. I just tape up the holes, and carry on. 8^)

I do pretty much what FireChief Jeff does. The different is that I use aluminum arrow shafts for the posts that I can stick in the ground. Works like a charm and easily portable. I'll have to post som pictures of it.

I think the one you're referring to at Cabelas is a Double Bull. They're expensive and not as good as the Baronette. Don't know if I'd go with the Big Mike? They have a number of choices for us trad guys, most of which are 80 inches high. You can pick and choose.
The only fault I can find with them is if you have a turkey at 6 to 8 feet, the fabric kind of prevents you from shooting that low.

I ended up buying the Cabelas Bullet n blade blind. They offered a heckuva discount for veterans on Memorial Day. It seems like a nice blind. It has full length door on all 4 sides that look as though they will work for trad bows to shoot through

I just bought a used Baronet blind. The thing feels like I'm in a living room, it's so big. I'm looking forward to trying out, I just need to find a place big enough to put it. I'm convinced that they work best when they are brushed in and not out in the open.

I've been very happy with my Double Bull Double Wides. They're one of the couple of blinds that actually have windows that go low enough for me to shoot.
I have a Barnett Ground 250 that is nice and light...the problem is that the windows don't go lower than the hubs, this prevents me from having enough room to shoot. If the windows went down another foot, that cheap Grounder 250 would be a great run and gun ground blind as it's about 13lbs lighter than my Double Bull.
With that said both of my double bulls are for sale locally. I hear that Hidden Hunter only have a 2wk window now....Even though based on pic I'm concerned about window height on those blinds as well. When a turkey get's in close to the 5 yard and closer range, it's hard to get an angle with the windows so high.

I have a Barronett Big Mike that I use when the occasion calls for a ground blind. It is 59"x59" and 80" tall . . . It has plenty of room to shoot my 60" Blacktail out of.
The corner windows will open lower that I have them open in the picture - to about where the lower portion of the quiver is . . .

My double bull blind has had years of use and seen better days so this year I bought a cheap Ameristep Haven blind. I shoot a 70" bow and had good luck with it killing a turkey. I like the old double bull, don't know the mocel, a little better but not by much.

I picked up a Ghost blind predator this year. Is pretty nice, and elliminates the issue of getting hung up on anything like I have had in enclosed blinds...32" draw length and 6'4" doesnt help much!
