I think we're heading down Wednesday evening this year. Another night of camping never hurts.

Wish I was going; the 24 hour drive is too hard to get away from work this year. Last year my wife and I flew, had a blast but we can’t swing it this year. Hope to see lots of pictures!

I haven't missed one yet

A great Saturday evening planned with Monty. This man has traveled the world with a longbow. Done it all, seen it all. Written about it, told of it. ? ? He really needs no introduction. Growing up, I would scout the table of contents in Traditional Bowhunter Magazine, and immediately flip to the pages containing his pencraft. I’ve been with him to Alaska in the pages of his book, ran through the bush into the midst of cape buffalo herds in his chapters, looked for a tree to climb or stick to wave in the face of aggressive bears. ? ? Monty Browning, Compton Life Member, adventurer, bowhunter, storyteller.? ? Monty will highlight our speakers at the upcoming Rendezvous, and you will have two opportunities to hear him. His Friday afternoon seminar, titled “Getting Close to Dangerous Game” begins at 2:30 and will be great listening for all of us marginalized by our families for an attraction to closing the gap to within paces of any animal with the equipment and disposition to make that stalk our last.? ? His Saturday evening talk will be squarely centered on this bull of a lifetime, and final trip to the Alaskan bush in pursuit of these giant ungulates. ? ? For those of us who have been fortunate to listen to Monty speak at other events, it’s mandatory listening. For those who have not heard him sculpt a good story, just take our word for it!? ?

Attended first time last year and hope to come out this year, was a great time. About a 2hr ride for me so just need to plan my days well.

Compton and the host club do a great job running this event! I was at the first one and didn't miss a year till recently. I was there last year and if it has done anything it has just gotten better each year. Like minded people walking around all weekend with a smile. What's better?

We do a number of camping shoots every year and the Compton Rendezvous is one that we do not miss. No matter if you are a seasoned veteran of traditional archery of a newbie, you will enjoy this camping shoot in western MI. We'll be there. Stop by camp. Put your feet up and tell a story. Just a few weeks away now. See you all soon!

Me, Big Head and Doc Foura will be there and laughing our butts off and shooting Friday. Hope to see some old friends and meet some new ones.

Ive been going there when the GLLI was still there, and still am, awesome place to have a shoot, it was great when the GLLI was there, and now Comptons, and still a great shoot!! 6hr drive from wisconsin, but well worth it.

My wife and I will be going this year. Excited!!

We try to never miss Compton or ETAR. Great events with great people. So nice to get to just shoot and not wait for the crowd in front to tediously record scores. Competition has it’s place. But, for those of us who just enjoy shooting traditional bows and grown past the need to worry about whether you “measure” up, it is a fantastic opportunity to share with the family as a family. More than lip service to promoting the sport here. Ever notice how the biggest crowds are at events like Compton and ETAR? Of course, there are those like the Tennessee Classic that take both of to account, those who want to keep score and those who could care less. Look how that event has grown! Also, have you noticed how events like this one are promoted on here by participants rather than the organizer. Some guys will think of any reason to avail themselves of the free advertising on here to promote their way over hyped event. But events like Compton get support from those who go.
