Was going to Baltimore this weekend but due to recent knee surgery, decided to bag it as a three day event would be tough. This shoot might fill in the gap. Can probably manage a one dayer and it's not too far from home. Weather also sounds good.

Made the two hr drive up to Blue Ridge yesterday morning. Kenny was raking leaves and cleaning up as always. Seems only he and Rod were on duty saturday and sunday. Saturday they had ONE shooter, hello!! But the beat goes on. Sunday I was probably number 5. Danny Bonzar, Carl jr. and his son were finishing up as I got there we had a good time reminiscing. I had purchased some bows years back from Danny's father Rudy. Carl jr was shooting an 83 one piece Bighorn that he just tracked down. It had belonged to his father who has since passed. Good for him and getting his dad's bow. I bs'd with Kenny for a bit, then took my widow for a slow walk on the lower course. What a super day to throw arrows. No one around, walked at my own pace. Even ran into one of the old 2D Pottinger Moose targets from yesteryear. Pleasant surprise. Finished up back at the club house where the menu for the day was hot dogs. So a water and a hot dog went well. Good buddy George Johnson came in from Jersey; again lots of time talking about old friend here and gone, and old bows here and gone. George and I then shot the upper course and bs'd at each target. A fantastic morning. Back at the club house, another water more bs'n then headed home around 1pm. No it surely wasn't crowded and the club didn't make a lot of money but your couldn't beat it. Next trad saturday is June 15th. I will surely try to make it. Hats off to Rod and Kenny for keeping the campfire burning bright at Blue Ridge. Thanks guys. Shick

Oh, I forgot, a young couple shooting there for the first time took pictures of a very very newborn fawn who was still wet, that wobbled over to them and nuzzled their legs. They were one thrilled couple. Sorry I didn't get their names, but I'm sure they will be back at Blue ridge. Shick
