Received my Osage Royale by my friend Chuck Jones of Black Rhino bows. I wanted an heirloom bow and boy did I get a great one. 66” with 3/4” of backset, 45@28”. Perfect string alignment, straight limb grind, perfect limb tips and nock grooves, 2 1/8” straight grip and narrow limbs. The photos do not do the grain on the Osage justice. Cannot wait to get some arrows through it. Thanks again Chuck!

Chuck has been making them for a long time. I had one of his several decades ago...1990's.

He does make a fine bow and did laminations and such along with I do believe guidance for M.R. Hamilton and his Scorpion line of bows. I own an older t/d longbow of his. I can not believe the precision cuts of the riser and how they fit together so well. Extremely narrow tips too. The handle is pretty darn big I"ll say that, even for my hands. Mine is made of black ash and what I assume to be a g10 riser, at least that is what it looks like. thanks

Great bows! I can track my increasing age and decreasing strength by my Osage Royales. Here is a pic of my last one. It has darkened up nicely since this picture.

I've an older 2 piece t/d from him. Except it is mountain ash I think. Big ass grip too. stay safe

PS shoots excellent for as much as I shoot anymore. I think the riser is made of G10. He makes wonderful bows and M.R. Hamilton considered him a mentor.

Chuck made me a 68" all osage bow with buffalo horn tips / overlays and a stitched grip about 15 years ago. I loved that bow and it was a pleasure to hold and shoot. Some punks managed to steal it from our home and ended up ditching it in the nearby creek after breaking the tip. I miss it to this day: nice narrow limbs and deep cores. It loved heavy ash shafts with 190gr Ribteks.

Very nice bow bow Flint congrats. Kind of funny you getting a Royale I just shipped to a new home my Wallace Royal. Over the last 25 yrs thru this Trad world I have meet several men who fall into the catagory of never heard another say a cross or bad word about them and Chuck Jones lands square in the middle of those folks. Hopefully you get to make meat with it yet this yr. Kurt

I wasn't aware he was still making bows. Glad he is.

I saw somewhere he was selling his business, can't remember where.

I have a twin to yours (all Osage, straight brown leather-wrapped grip) except mine is a tad shorter and heavier. The Osage darkens nicely to amber over time...makes a pretty and quiet bow.

Very nice! Jawge
