Dr. Ashby is a Texan, lives there now I believe. He spent a big part of his life trying to find out things to help bowhunters and promote bowhunting.

His research was not for personal gain, it was to find answers.

This podcast gives you a good feel for the kind of guy he is and how much time and effort he put into it. It is long, but not boring once you get to the Dr. speaking.

Dr. Ed came to visit me once, along with the editor of an Australian archery mag. They stayed for three days and did a three page story in the mag on my flint knapping, as I was the only feller they knew who hunted with stone points exclusively. I took them after wild goats- Ed was punching them in the shoulders using a bow that I had no hope of drawing- and he's older than me:) He gave me an original forgewood shaft and a spare pipe when I couldn't find mine. Still have both:) JayInOz
