I think they are very comparable to an A&H

Jim makes an awesome bow that shoot great. He has the carbon thing figured out for sure. The XTL lam is a game changer and a must have in my opinion.

That being said I’d love to try one of his all wood bows sometime...

Great bowyer and design

Jim builds a fantastic bow. I had a Triple Carbon Elite for a spell. It shot great. Felt fantastic in the hand as well, with NO hand shock. I also have, and kept, one of his Chimera's. I preferred the Chimera. It is not quite as fast, but quieter and smoother to me.

I also have an ACS CX three piece that I love as well. It is smooth and fast. My ACS is quite a bit faster than either of my Centaur's but the Centaur's were both more forgiving....IMHO. The limbs of the Centaurs are more torsionally stable and rigid. May be because they are thicker and Jim uses that cross weave carbon, not sure if that is why. Now the ACS is plenty forgiving, it just seems to be less forgiving of my release than my Centaur's. If I pluck the string a tad (which I do sometimes) I am more apt to have a flyer with my ACS.

I never plan to get rid of my Chimera or my ACS. They are both fantastic bows. I certainly would not hesitate to purchase another one of Jim Neave's Centaur bows. They are incredible. If I had to have only one bow.....it would probably be a Centaur!

I have a Triple Carbon Elite. It's smooth as silk, zero hand shock and is a fast bow. I did a lot of research before I bought that bow... I never once read a word of dissatisfaction about his bows. After owning one... I understand why! I got the takedown version... VERY sturdy... very simple/easy to take apart and put back together. I took it with me to Alberta. The first animal I killed with it was a bear. The VPA buried so far in the log on the other side of him I had to use pliers to get it out. 50# bow...

If I could do it again... I'd get a Chimera... I'd give up a couple of fps for a better look. Great bows... Jim's so nice to work with. Good luck.

Just bought a dark matter bow and really like it.. Have owned about every longbow there is and this one is in first or second place for me..It's a takedown too..
