So this young guy I work with was watching me shoot my Longbow this evening. He was intrigued to say the least. I said look it takes thousands of arrows to get good with one of these things...... finally I asked if he would like to give it a try? He said sure! All I could do was stand there with my mouth agape lol This kid had never shot any bow before today! He just ordered himself a Black Hunter Longbow whoop whoop! Nothing I like more than getting someone hooked on archery!

Help with a couple events annually where we put a bow in kids(several thousand)hand and and they get three shots each around seven yards. It's amazing how some really have no trouble shooting a bow. Some will spend hours getting back in line to shoot again .cool deal basinboy .

Thumbs up. Just don't tell him about target panic.

Yes they are. Learning about TP doesn’t give you TP. Many people would not get it if given proper training and drills from the start.

Yes it’s very common. And many competitive archers get it. Pro shop workers see it constantly.

TP...Well I've been 56 years without it so hopefully this young fellow will do the same. How did this thread get to Target Panic? We need an eye roll emoji, among other things. I'd go ahead and get him a smaller target BTW. Good to see.

Archery - so easy a caveman can do it. As with all sports, there are those who are just naturals. Anyone who plays golf wishes they could play like Tiger.

Good for you getting another member into the trad community Corey.

Excellent! You must have some decent form yourself, too. For he watched and imitated it and it worked.

Yep, I've noticed some kids just seem to have that natural ability. Like said above, good on you!

I hope you weren't shooting for money. The kid sounds like a hustler :-)

The term "instinctive" comes from somewhere.

I've got to spend some time coaching kids in different sports and there are some that are exactly described, natural athletes. The problem sometimes is when they master something they get bored and look for something more challenging.

Looks like he got his moneys worth out of those Levi's.

Corey is doing it. And shooting animals! You going to take him along maybe.
