Go to Home Depot, Lowes, or some other garden supply and buy some Martha White Bamboo plant stakes. I usually look through the 6' long packages and pick out the best looking ones. I can sometimes get two shafts from one 6' cane.

Get on youtube and learn how to straighten them and make your own. It's not hard, just takes some time.

Get on ebay stmmr68 or so. These shafts are stamped Tiger and are spined. Way better than fooling around with home improvement store tomato stake junk.

X3 on oulaybamboo on eBay. His are spined on 26” centers and excellent quality.

Stmmr68 spines his on 28” centers so all the shafts will be 10-15# stiffer and his quality is not as good.

By far the best quality has come from qme-Archery on eBay but they are not spined and usually really stiff, 65# and up for the 8mm size. If you need lower spines get their 7mm size but still are not spined.

Anybody needing stiff spines I’ll trade for lower spines.

Jaap Koppedreyer grows and processes his own in Odum, Georgia. Yumi Archery. Probably one of the most expert people in the world. Check him out if you want quality and American made.

Just curious, what do bamboo shafts weigh

From: Kelly

Just like wood they vary quite a lot. I have them from 350 grains to over 500. The stiffer the spine the more they weight.

American made would be awesome thanks

For those people who used oulay bamboo, do you find that their shafts diameters will fit with store-bought nocks and points?

Sprinkle, the bamboo shafts are slightly larger than 5/16” but smaller than 11/32”. Actually much closer to 21/64” which their are no nocks or points made in those sizes anymore.

I’ve purchased the self nock ones and those where I needed to install nocks. 5/16” nocks work real well on the smaller end. Oh yeah these bamboo shafts are naturally full length tapered.

As far as the point end goes 5/16” will work but I like heavy points and all of my 160 and 190 grains points, as well as the broadheads are all 11/32” diameter. Yes they are larger than the business end of these shafts but I just use more hot melt so that all of those 5 degree tapers are filled up.

Love the smaller diameter of these bamboo shafts.

I find that 2 sizes of nocks has fit all of them so far. Lost the packaging but I believe they are 1/4 & 5/16. >>>.-----> Ken

Well it was right side up before I sent it? I also love to use self nocks. This one I tried to show the orientation of about 1 and 7 o'clock for total clearance with 2 fletch. I order direct from Oulay also. Free shipping. >>>>-----> Ken
