We will have our 30 target 3-D course set up, 10 target toughman course, the field course will be open and our fun course across the road. It seemed everyone really liked our "Zombie" course over there a couple of years back, so this year we are setting up a "Creepy Clown" course. Paper targets and 3-D's depicting clowns like this one...

I'm looking foward to this shoot- don't know about the clown thing but that main course through the creek botom and up and around the mountain was the best I ever shot (so realistic set up)

Can't wait. My favorite event of the year. Very well managed and the best fellowship you will find around 3D archery.

This is the best shoot around and the one to attend if you want to have the most fun and good people around, would not miss this one. I will be bringing several bows (tomahawk longbows,Bear model B takedown riser and such )to put up on the rack for a very reasonable price. You can be sure to enjoy this shoot.

Yeah, we kind of discourage that!! 4 or 5 years ago we set the whole fun range up with manequins and paper targets of zombies. Kind of a take off on all of that Walking dead stuff. The shooters seemed to really have a blast shooting at non typical targets, laughing and cutting up. So, we decided to try it with the creepy clowns this year.

Does Sherwood Archers have anymore traditional shoots ? What's the shooting schedule ?

The only traditional only shoot we put on each year is the STAR shoot. We do have monthly 3-D's and have a fairly large contingent of traditional archers out there. We usually get a couple groups of trad guys out on the range early before the compounders get out.

just hoping not too Hot

Temperatures are supposed to be in the mid 90's here this week with high humidity. The extended forecast is for a cold front to pass through Friday bringing clear weather and cooler temperatures, in the low to mid 80's, for next weekend.

We will be making our first trip to this shoot. We have made numerous shoots across this country over the last couple of decades but this will be our first visit here. Only three of us can make it this time. The others are young adults now with the usual responsibilities. Hopefully we don’t get caught out on the course and n a downpour like we did at one of the shoots we attended this past weekend.

like to camp but get a room there due to Hot Weather (I don't do hot well) a La Quenta is not far up the road

Hey James that’s nothing. 7 +. To get to Denton hill for me .

We have been known to go to shoots in Nebraska, Alabama, and of course ETAR. All of those are 9 plus hours each way for us. We really enjoy shooting the different courses and meeting different people. Our children grew up shooting and traveling to all parts unknown. We try to experience the local flare if you will and visit any nearby attractions too.

The Cool Springs Gang will be heading down Friday....can't wait.

Knee replacement has kept me inactive the last couple of months and as a result had to miss Whittingham and Baltimore, my normal spring schedule.

Got to know and shoot with Allen (10 Ring Strings) and the Cool Spring Gang at ETAR. Allen has always touted the STAR shoot for its quality.

Since cabin fever has engulfed me because of the knee surgery, I decided what the hell, take a road trip and attend the STAR. The weather is supposed to be great and I can't think of a better bunch of folks to shoot with than the Cool Springs folks.

It'll be a 7+ hour trip but a fairly straight shot down I-81. I figure if these guys can trek all the way to north-central PA for ETAR, I can trek south to VA for an equally good event. Really pumped and in addition will get to try my new PCH on a 3D course. Life continues on a positive course.

Stykman, you'll enjoy the shoot, especially with Allen as your guide!! I was there for the 1st time last year and really enjoyed it, pains me to miss it this year, its a great shoot!

We are looking forward to seeing you Dave....now if we could just talk my daughter in to cooking for us, we would be set!

Can't wait to see your new Widow.

We had a fantastic time on the 3D course as predicted above. If you have never been and considering going tomorrow, I would not hesitate. The weather was perfect today which only added to a great course and extremely hospitable group of hosts.
