I meant to put that in the selfbow section. Been awhile since I could post pictures. I'm trying to figure this out.

I got the stave I made this family of three from in trade blanket at Marshall last year. I traded Wyatt a flint knapped knife for a nice dark osage stave. I removed the bark and chased a ring then I looked for a bow in it. I decided where my main bow was and decided to take a side split to remove wood I didn't need for main bow. It worked well and I thought I can get a kids bow from the side split to. Then I decided I'd try a belly split to remove wood I didn't need for main bow. It worked well to (doesn't always work that way) . I thought I can get a ladies bow from the belly split. They all turn out great. I decided they needed to stay in the family. They are going to my son in law, daughter and grandson. I'll try get more pictures posted if I can

Beautiful Bows. I'd say you got total utilization from that stave. You're a true craftsman Bjrogg. Love the way you carried the knot hole through the handle glue up.

All I can say is WOW! If everyone would utilize resources the way you did, we'd be in better shape. Great work to make 3 bows from one stave and have them full of character and shooters well tillered....that's why I say WOW! So great to see - Excellent craftsmanship!!!

Very nice! When is Marshall? I'd like to make it there this year, planned on going last year but couldn't make it.

Brian, super nice and what a great job picking out three bows from that stave.

From: Bjrogg
Date: 10-Apr-19

Thanks everyone for the kind words. So glad you like them.

Phil that's one of the nicest things anyone has ever told me. Thanks.

Hickory please don't.

Wooddamon1, the meet in Marshall Michigan is the week of Memorial Day. Guys start showing up about wensday before Memorial Day most leave on Sunday very few left by Memorial Day.

I might be wrong but I think MoJam is in Marshall, Missouri. I don't remember the date. I haven't been there yet but I'd really like to. They have a very talented bunch there. I've meet several of them at Michigan meet.

Haha. Just a figure of speech. I'm sure if i keep at it i'll be almost as good as you one day. I'm 31 years old, hopefully plenty of good years ahead

From: Bjrogg
Date: 11-Apr-19

I'm sure you will hickory. You got a lot earlier start than I did. I think I was about 54 when I made my first selfbow. Just think how good you'll be in another 23 years.

Very nice. What are you doing your writing with? Carl

From: Bjrogg
Date: 13-Apr-19

Thanks again everyone.

Carl I got this tip from Pearl Drums. I use a "nano liner" I think it's called. I think its used for women's eyes. It's almost like a cross between a fine line marker and a paint brush.

From: Bjrogg

Another thing Carl. I always put at least one coat of tru oil on before writing on bow. I can wipe it off if I screw up and it doesn't bleed in the wood grain.
