I've been thinking about trying the Southwest Archery Tigershark Pro.I know SA bows are made by the same guys that designed the Samick bows and everyone says they're a great bang for the buck. But how do they compare to say Bears Grizzley Howatt Hunters and the like as far as smoothness of draw, noise and arrow speed if draw weight etc is the same ?

If you have a longer draw go with the XL Limbs for a 64 inch bow. I have a 30 inch draw and the 62" was stacking and noisier and I usually shoot 62" bows. I think you would be good out to 29" though. They are not the fastest nor the slowest bow out there, they will take the High Performance String material, and they are just a good solid bow. Some people have a problem with the finish on them, for all the more they cost I don't care, it is not gawd awful but it is not perfect. It comes with a stabilizer bushing you can add a bow fishing set up and comes with sight inserts for sights, or quiver, or one of those Ketchup bottle bow fishing rigs. Those two things you don't get on bows even at a higher price. It can be shot off the shelf (which is what I do) and it has a Berger Button bushing that can be used with an elevated rest. It will do every thing you ask it to do as long as you do what you are supposed to do. DANNY

Bernie, I have Sage limbs on a Black Bear riser and they are as smooth as any bow you will find. They are just as good as many bows priced four or five times more. My grandson has a Sage and it's a great bow as it comes. I use low stretch on my frankenbow (Bear/Sage) and it performs very well. The Southwest version is a little more worked...smoother around the riser edges, but basically the same model.

I'm not a multi bow man.

My old Ben Pearson began to creaky yesterday and making me nervous. Love that bow but I don't want it to collapse and take an eye out. I ordered a Samick Sage and it should be here Thursday afternoon.

I hear nothing but good things about them.

I'll probably buy a Sage riser to match the limbs I already have for the Black Bear riser, so I have a wood riser for the colder weather.

I had one of the southwest Spyder XL 64", great bow, was smooth out to 32". Id recommend the Southwest over the Sage. The southwest has a slightly better finish and the edges are rounded over better. Not sure what the difference is between the Tigershark riser and the Spyder, look almost identical to me. I didn't keep the bow, sold it to a friend when I got my widow. He still shoots it and loves it. The only downside I found with the Southwest bows is they come with Allen bolts instead of thumb screws for the limbs. Personal preference, easily fixable. I'm pretty sure the limbs are interchangeable between them as well.

I love grizzlys, my all time favorite bow and I hate to admit it but the Samicks I've had definitely out perform them. I'm down to only 4 bows now and the Sage will out perform my KH and my custom, smoother, faster and quieter. They are really good shooters and as for fit and finish, a sander and poly work great. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you buy one.
