Been shooting aluminums, making the switch to carbons. With the Beman Bowhunters, I like the look of feathers on the shaft with no wrap. Want to fletch using Platinum Plus, that’s all I have used for years. So, should I use a clear (transparent) wrap? Or, just fletch directly to the shaft?

It will work on bare carbons.

On bare aluminum, I only use SAUNDERS NPV ARROWMATE, otherwise it's a wrap.

With carbon you will want to use a “super glue”. I have never seen a clear wrap.

Whether aluminum or carbon, I have never used a wrap. I use NPV with no issues ever.

Saunders, or Fletchtite Premium will work fine on carbon without wraps. Wrap are just cap dipping in a different form. If you want a base to set the fletch on, but like the look without the wraps, just dip them in clear acrylic...then fletch. You don't need super glue if you just clean the shafts well of any release solution that came with them from the factory.

I use Fletchtite Platinum on GT Woodgrain shafts with no problems. I wipe down the shaft with acetone 1st, rinse off with water and let dry. Works great for me.

I always use wraps on carbons. I get a very long life out of well made carbons and can actually go through a set of feathers or two. Wraps make feather removal very easy and can be done in a way that you don't risk nicking the carbon fiber with a knife or removal tool and damaging the shaft.
I know you mentioned clear, but another reason I like wraps is for the added color in finding an arrow in the grass or leaves---I do a lot of stump shooting and this makes life easier.
I also always tune with a wrap in place because they do add a few grains to the back of the shaft.
Wraps are very inexpensive and will help protect your investment of good carbons, which when taken care of will likely be the cheapest shafts you will ever buy.
There are many adhesives that work just fine with carbons, but for the reasons above I use wraps every time.

P.S.---when using wraps I use the gorilla super glue with the blue cap. Its available about everywhere and I have yet to have a feather come unattached.

I also use blue cap super glue directly on carbon amd aluminum arrows. No wraps. Works great on my carbons. On aluminums I have to scruff the surface pretty good.

I recently got 5 rolls of clear wrap for $20ish from tape planet.com. great stuff. I think each roll is 25ft. I love wraps, unfletching is a breeze.

Yea if you ever want to refletch you want a wrap. One stringer wraps are durable and he has clear. I use loctite clear gel with or without wraps. Tough stuff and good applicator. I think One Stringer recommended it to me.
