Recent experiences , 1 is just as good as the other in my eyes. I only play the name game when i want a certain color. Im a big fan of sagatarius archery's colors speaking of such, especially thier orange. Plus great folks to deal with.

Trueflight for me. I've been using it for years with no problems.
This could very well be like a Ford vs Chevy thing....Just individual preferences.

Last time I bought Gateways was some years ago and was not happy. THICK quills. I'm told they've improved since, but I stick with Trueflights.

Gateway does have some big inconsistently thick quills, I use their 2.5" shields and clamp them up in a straight clamp and sand them all to a consistent thickness. If Trueflight had a 2.5 like I want I'd buy them and forego all the sanding. Bearpaw is good if they have the size that you want.

Trueflight. Had issues ten plus years ago with the dye color on Gateway. Would bleed / run when getting wet.
Have also used Bearpaw a couple times with good results.

If I could only choose between Gateway and Truflight, it would be Trueflight every time.

I had a couple of Amazon gift cards from Christmas. I just bought 100 4" parabolic RW Gateways on the big site, $38 shipped for the hundred. In the past the Gateway feathers I have used were not good with fletch tape. The quill grind was not perpendicular and with tape the fletching would lay off-angled to arrow shafts. These will be glued down. Should be no issues. Yes, sometimes the quill will be thick.
I prefer Sagittarius, but didn't have a gift card for them. ;)

I usually buy the cheapest, being the cheapskate that I am. But I don't know why you haven't looked at AMG, or Bearpaw, or Ozark Feathers too. I've used the Ozark feathers and AMG and they were both consistent. I've also bought some Trueflight that had bases that narrowed from front to back....trying to get more out of a full length feather. The last bunch of Gateway I bought worked as well as any other. As long as the bases are flat, the glue will hold. I'm not a brand-loyal person to the point of not looking at other options.

I seldom buy,use natural feathers. When I do it is for color then price. I don't mind sanding a quill if I am not happy with it. >>>---> Ken

Ozarks are my favorite, cheaper than Trueflight with same quill consistancy (or better). Gateways work fine, it just irks me that they can't or won't make a consistant quill feather to feather considering what feathers cost.

Both are good and I generally find deals that guys are selling then grab them up. This way your stocked and you have reasonable the same with shafts and other items.
Just don't work mixing when trying to splice. I have feathers in plastic containers I probably don't even know I have. One day will try to sort out and prob. sell.
I know I have some AMG's that I liked the looks when I got them then forgot where they were.
I will sand or have sanded a quill in the clamp as well.

I fall into that whatever is cheapest although I don’t care for AMG cause they fade faster than Gateways. Thick quills hasn’t bothered me in the past. Now that I have learned how to “set” fletch tape I don’t have any issues.

True Flite is moore consistant. Gateway is a little bit higher standing.
Feathers can be beat up pretty bad and still shoot good. Ugly probably shoots good too.
Looks aren't all,but they count.

Problem I've had with newer Trueflights is the quill is TOO wide...not too thick. Hard to get the whole thing to lay flat with a helical.

All joking aside in my experience Sagittarius Archery has better feathers than either of them. But understand that all I buy are full length white and I cut and dye my own.

I go with Ozark these days. They are consistent in shape and height. Like their colors too. I have used and liked Sagittarius' feathers, but when I was buying their product they didn't offer any feathers under 4". GH is looking for 3" fletches ...

After some research on reviews went with bearpaw 4” seem interesting, good reports on quill consistency thickness color, and not too bad on price. About 38 cents. George got me curious LOL

The last feathers I bought were from Sagittarius. The next ones will also be from them. Prior to taking recommendations from this site and trying the Sagittarius feathers, I used Truflight, and have been disappointed with Gateway and AMG.
