IIRC many inserts are installed at the factory with super glue.

Just don't hiccup the installation or get it on the threads and you should be good to go.

Yes, super glue can be used. Only 1's ive used are dap rapid fuse and gorilla super glue. I cannot attest to other brands as these are the only 1's i use. Most all super glues are the same tho. Some guys even fletch with it.

'Regular' super glue an crystallizec and shatter under impact. I use the black ruberized SG, but it is *permanent.*

I just use hot melt, Hico, never lose any tips...even in stumps. That way I can get them out with very little heat and no damage to the arrow.

No grooves in those inserts?

Yes, the inserts should have grooves of some sort. I use hot melt, too, for its reversibility. Sure, some of it is pushed out, but if there are any grooves at all in the inserts, enough glue will remain to hold them in.

You do not have mail delivery there in Butt Hole?

Gorilla glue makes a very effective Super Glue that is applied with a brush. I use it for all sorts of things.

JB Weld Clear...epoxy..just used it, can't report on long term. Cured overnight.

Lancaster uses 2-Ton epoxy and provides it with a dozen Axis shafts. It cures in 24hrs.

Super glue is brittle therefore not good for impact.

Cleanup with acetone.

RMSGear turned me on to rubberized super glue that is made to handle the shock of an arrow hitting something hard which fractures the bond of any other kind of glue. I tried it and it works GREAT. No more pulling out of inserts.

Several people have asked me what rubberized super glue I use and where to buy it. It is called Rubber Toughened Cyanoacrylate Glue and I bought BSI IC-2000 for $6.24 w/ free shipping from Amazon. It works INCREDIBLY well for inserts. Thanks to Danny at RMS Gear for this tip.

I ve been using Goat Tuff GT Impact for inserts and it works great , I think it may be the same as LBarchitect mentioned , I get if from 3Rs it says its "rubberized adhesive"
