Bow is WW black wolf. 50lb, 60in. Right handed. Draw length is 27.5. Using bear weather rest. Arrows are Goldtip trad blems. 63gr insert, 125grn tip. At 29 inch feathers fly good, bare shaft shows weak. Started trimming 1/8 inch at a time. Each cut required a higher nocking point. After a half inch off bare shaft is true but required an additional half inch nocking point. Then with the 2.5 inch feathers the arrow hops and of course shoots way low. What am I doing wrong,,?
Sounds like fletch interference. If you shoot split finger you could be putting downward pressure of the shaft on the rest. That is usually caused by a high elbow. Just some thoughts it is hard to tell without seeing. Good luck and let us know what works for you. >>>----> Ken
Blackwolf is cut too far from center to make just a stick on Bear weather rest work. Unless you build it out a lot. Better off with a centerest type flipper thats adjustable.
Followed the great advise on here. Still using the bear weather rest but machined a piece of plastic the width I needed. The set up is awesome now. Thanks to all for the help. I came out 3/16 from the riser.
Sounds like a stiff arrow to me with a false reading.
If you're right handed did the bare shafts impact right of the fletched shafts? That's weak and with less than 50 pound and less than 28 inches and only 200ish up from that's a false reading.
Yes the bare shaft was about 5 inches right and knock flying left. After building out the rest the bare shaft hits with the fletched but still shows a little knock left in flight. I now have great arrow flight and my broadheads fly true. Do you think I would be better with the 500s now that I moved the rest out?
