I came across two 'vintange' Bear Grizzly recurves on Craigslist. One is 62" 50# and the other is 62" 52#. They're listed for sale at $175 for both bows.

I'm interested in the 62", 52#, GD729. Is the GD729 a serial number or some sort of identifying marker? They look like older, but good condition bows. I have to imagine $175 is a decent price for two bows, but can anybody share their opinion on them?

As long as the limbs are straight, buy them both.

Need pics.

I can say they are 1950s bows most likely.

If they have zebrawood center riser insert, a leather grip, plus a gray (nickel) colored Bear medallion, they are '62's and really cool bows. Good shooters and good lookers too.

Wow, these are NICE!!! He emailed me the pics.

I'll let the grizzly experts guess the years but I'd say 1952 and 1954?

Well, the 52# had some serious cracking. But I did pick up the 50# for $100. It’s in great shape. Put a string on it and drew a couple times. Felt great. Too bad about the 52#, though.
