Today's shot will be the 'Horizontal Obstruction' shot from 22 yards. Place something half-way between you and the target that just barely blocks your vision to the target but allows for your arrow to arc over the obstruction to hit the target. Your vision to the target is the only thing that is blocked, not your flight arrow path. Have fun!

God Bless,

CD

Morning.

22 yards, Horizontal Obstruction ( deck railing ).

1990s Bear Hunter TD, 60#@28", Cedar arrow.

Good shooting Frank,

I have never hit the obstruction on one of these shots, but if I used the railing like you did, I would be replacing it right now.....Ha!Ha!

Thanks Ron. My shot did go a little high and right but it did stay in the kill zone. Hopefully I'll never hit the railing because if I do I'll never hear the end of it from the Mrs. "LOL"

I set up my obstruction half way and had to get down on my knee to hide the bullseye. I did like Frank I shot to the right and I used a box on top of a trash can, I'm chicken!!!!

Frank my wife watches me like a hawk I would never have made it that far before she would come running out of the house hollering Ronald don't you dare!!!!!!!...LOL!

Thanks for the call CD, we haven't done this one for a while.

Bow Yew 40lbs @27.5

Arrow POC

If you folks haven't heard my HH Wesley Special broke again, I re-glued and am tackling it from a different approach. The break was straight across and difficult to repair, my Yew bow that I am using now was broken diagonally and with the grain, easy repair.

Have a great day and hit-em-like-Howard

Hah! Ron and I had the same set-up, kneeling and shooting over a trash can! I wish I knew how to make the side-by-side photo. So here's my set up, hoping to hit the red golf tee on the left.

Shot taken with the Mirkwood knife-edge Howatt Hunter..impact left of the tee. So I launched another, impact right of the tee.

That red fletch is fetching I guess! ;^) Y'all have a great week and take care! Oh, and some awful good shooting above!

Thanks for the call CD, it’s been awhile since this shot was called. Here’s the before. Over the gate and the garbage can/target obstruction. I was right in line but like Matthew, I was low. Shooting my Browning Explorer 1, 54” and 46# and a 3R cedar arrow. Have a good day everyone! Lance

I asked my wife to be the obstruction sitting on the ground so I could shoot over her head. :^D he,he,he. I got that look and a quick NO. :^) he,he. So, I shot over the shooting bench at the club. The arrow just barley made it over the wood blocks. 54# Predator with Herritage 250s. 1st pic is the shot. 2nd pic is the hit.
