I am looking to make a bamboo backed longbow. Does anyone have suggestions or good experiences with purchasing bamboo backing strips and if so. with who? I am looking for strips that are already ground flat on the one side.
Opinions on Ipe vs osage for the belly of the bow. Suppliers who you have had good experiences with providing quality product?

Osage is the king of bow woods.
But if you use IPE, wear a respirator and gloves when doing so.
Some folks have gotten a severe reaction from IPE.
I'm one of them...
