Are any of you familiar with the Fred Bear Alaskan compound? It looks like a B magnesium riser. I am wondering if any of you have turned this riser into an ilf rig? Thank you very much.

I've got one myself and everyone told me it wouldn't work, so it hangs on the rack.

Bummer. Ok, thanks for the heads up.

I know of the bow and I'm not sure why it wouldn't work. You would need to take the limbs off to view the limb butt area.

That's what I thought too George but I asked some of the Sarg/frankinbow guys and they said no. But I think I'll strip it down and try, couldn't hurt.

Would you post a pic? I warfed an old bear riser once. Cant temember the model, but it was long, black with a hammer tone finish. It may have been an alaskan, but was 8ish yrs ago and my memory is foggy.

I would be curious about this as I have two of those Alaskan risers.

No,they won't work...but I wouldn't mind finding a good funtional one to use as is. Always wanted one but they were too expensive! My stick bow shooting days are about over due to physical issues.

I have one with Hawkeye now being worked on. I believe you could make a wedge shaped ilf plate that would work, but it hasn’t happened yet. I can post on it when he gets it done. But, to be honest, there are tons of risers that are better. I just had one laying around.
