Talked to him a few months back and he has a d/r longbow out now. He’s making a limited number a year. Super nice guy and I’m lucky to own one of his Hill style Bows.

Frank San Marco (there is no S on the end) builds great bows and has for many years.
Frank developed a hybrid longbow that he calls the Eagle. According to other sources the bow is very effciient. A specimne that drew 51.3lbs. at 28" was storing 49ft.lbs. of energy.
He isn't a full time bowyer, so yeah it takes a while.

Frank is still making bows. Lives in NY. I invited him to Cos Cob Archers in CT for our 1st Annual Trad Only Shoot last April. He brought some really nice bows for guys to try out. As mentioned above, at the time he was introducing a new hybrid longbows design that shot over 200fps. I believe he took a few orders for bows T the shoot. I invited him to Cos cob's 2nd Annual Trad Only Shoot this April 28TH. Last we communicated he said should be there.

Beautiful bows newell38 and oberon, wow 80lbs that is a beast of a bow. Glad he is still making bows but I remember his straight bows the most and not into the r&d bows but i’m sure they are really nice.

What set his bows apart for me visually, besides the leather lace grip, was the fluted tips he put on them.

Here are 2 of mine, far left and right. The one on the far right was one of Frank's personal bows. It's 67" long and marked 60#@28". It doesn't have the tip overlays. The one on the far left has a locator grip and the fluted tip overlays. It's 68" long and 47#@27.5". I met and talked with Frank for awhile at Denton Hill last year. He is a really nice guy. I'm on his list for his new Eagle hybrid.

San Marco has a half page ad for the Eagle Hybrid LB in the latest Traditional Bowhunter Magazine, Feb/Mar 2022. It shows the riser section of three bows and an insert picture of the elongated tips for each. Maybe he is uping production a bit.

I first met Frank back in the 1980's, and then about three years ago I talked to him at ETAR about his new model bows. Like most of us, he's getting older and needed to go down in weight. That is one reason he redesigned his bows in the hybrid fashion to get more performance at less weight. They are beautiful bows, as were all San Marco bows with impeccable workmanship.
Here's an old picture. Frank is second from left. Tom Cole and Dick Palmer are also in the front row. This was at the Pennsylvania Bowhunter Festival in Forksville, Pa.

A bit more on the Sam Marco Eagle Hybrid….. The bow shoots like a dream. Smooth, fast, easy to shoot. No hand shock, no stacking. You will not be disappointed if you decide to take the plunge!!

Starting at $1,500 bucks, they ought to be impressive. Not crazy about those long tips. The pics of his bows which I viewed on his site are very nice. Not sure I'd pay that much for one though.
