Bowmania's embedded Photo

This pronghorn was the 2nd biggest shot this year in CO and entered into the CO Bowhunter Ass. book.

My first animal with a recurve in probably 25 years. If it wasn't for bad shoulders it would have been a longbow kill. Twenty eight yard shot.

Great buck Todd. They are probably my favorite game animal. What did that monster score?

Well, I wouldn't enter it in P&Y. Compton has some wierd scoring and it was 75 and a little.

Bow was a Border ILF Tempest riser, with 7.5 limbs 39 lbs. Arrows were ACC .500 30 inches and a 160 Snuffer that weighted 285 grains for a total weight of 586. That's 14.5 grains per pound and if memory serves me correctly I got 175 fps.

I'm working on a story for TBM. Need a little different angle than a water hole hunt. Form thread is keeping me busy. I'll have to write myself a note.

Glad I didn't know how big it was or I might have been more nervous when I shot. LOL. THe heat was brutal. I was actually glad to have the hunt over.

Great job Todd! Glad you let us in on it.

Hey, isn't that a light bow with a heavy arrow?? Good thing you shot it at 28 yards cause 14.5 gpp arrows drop out of the sky at 30.

Great goat, good job.

I have a setup almost the same. 19" Tempest and 47#Hex 7.5s. Hope to stalk and decoy some pronghorn this year. I have a herd of about 40 that show up on the property behind me. I just need to get permission. Can't get ahold of owner.

Way to go. congratulations. Prong Horns are so unique and to get such a good one Wow. I may have to go to a Super Curve myself if I have to drop any more bow weight. >>>>----> ken
