I guess the Mexico thread got me to thinking;

What countries other than the US have you shot your bow in, hunting or otherwise?

Myself, just Canada, and Thailand

As I live in Europe it's mostly European countries, have two young boys so it keeps my finances in check. Italy and Hungary is probably my favorite places to compete.

I shot world Fields in Namibia 11 years ago, it was an awesome experience. I've shot in USA a number of times Watkins Glen, Yankton and Florida. I hope to make it to Lancaster Classic next year if health permits and I can get travel insurance.

Date: 20-Feb-19

Jon, I'm not sure who supplied the equipment, but I was familiar with Camp Cuervo while I was over there.

From: Jon Stewart
Date: 20-Feb-19

Buckshot, I was part of a group that gathered equipment and sent it to different bases over there. If you used some of our equipment you the first I have come in contact with since we did this. I opened up the last archery range on a Marine base,Camp Hansen , Afghanistan. After this opening we were told we couldn't send equipment over any longer. I sure hope you enjoyed the equipment and that is made a bit easier for you during this troubling time.

I moved to Sweden 21 years ago, so been shooting here and Danmark mostly and a couple times to Norway. It is almost only World Archery clubs here so we shoot lots of paper competitions. We have about 5 clubs within a half hour from where I am and we have an agreement that we can practice at any of the club's courses. We shoot 3D also and have a bowhunter course about an hour away with 60 targets (even though bow hunting is not legal here) that costs about $60 a year to use the course. The other countries I've been to shoot has been because of IFAA Bowhunter championships. Last year was Germany, 2017 was Italy and 2014 was France. Still hoping to shoot in Great Britain, Finland and Estonia sometime in the near future. M60Gunner if you're looking for 3D practice ranges around Europe Google "3d parcours", you'll find lots of them in Germany, Austria, Italy and France.

Jon,

I totally enjoyed the time I was able to shoot. It made me feel closer to being back home and helped unwind. It was a very nice thing to get your mind off of stuff. I also was one of the veterans that went to Colorado on the Trad Elk Hunts. Thank you and John for all that you did to help us over there.

Thank you Raven, we were in Italy and Germany last fall as part of a pilgrimage. Didn’t get any chance to find any archery in either country. Really want to return and try my skills on their ranges.

Canada

Also the UK if you count my first attempt at archery at 12 or 13 when our family lived there for 2 years in the mid 1960's

I had a Slazenger lemonwood bow which went to pieces at full draw after a bit of use. The shop nicely replaced it, the replacement also did the same thing. The shards of wood were quite sharp but missed me both times.

Next try was back home in Canada in the late 60's with an Archery Craft recurve with all fiberglass limbs and a wood riser.

The laminated recurves followed soon after in the early 70's.
