I just read the rules for this event. If you are a senior and have not yet registered to comptete, unless I misunderstand the rules, it is already too late to register. Deadline was 1/31.

From: tradlongbow
Date: 12-Feb-19

Hi John,

The rules state to have a Senior Class there needs to have at least 5 Seniors pre- register to support the class.

We received pre-registration in every Senior Class. Anyone wanting to shoot in the Senior Class can now register at the event.

You’re welcome, John.

Saturday morning the longbow and Selfbow shooters go out first to shoot, then recurve and open class. This allows shooters to shoot two classes.

Give me a call if you have any questions.

From: Sipsey River
Date: 11-May-19

As of now I plan to be there, have a couple of issues to resolve first.

From: Witherstick
Date: 11-May-19

We haven’t been out to one of the Farmland shoots for a couple of years. In fact, Farmland is where my wife and youngest son won some of their first trophies years ago. We can only make one day and always shoot as a family for the last 20 plus years. We enjoy the different courses across the country but no longer are interested in scoring. So is there an opportunity for families such as ours to just enjoy shooting the courses together?

From: tradlongbow
Date: 11-May-19

Hi Kirk,

There’s a spot on the registration form you can check off that for not competing. We’ll stamp your scorecard that you’re not competing and you can shoot as much as you want on any of the 3 ranges.

From: Witherstick
Date: 12-May-19

I thought that was the case. Another organization and a club or two could learn from TAS's example. Thank you for the reply. We are shooting at at least one other shoot that weekend but are reserving one day for Farmland. We will see you there.

From: Sipsey River
Date: 14-May-19

Someone explain the broadhead competition.

From: tradlongbow
Date: 14-May-19

John, There’s a 10 target qualifying course. The 20 shooters from the qualifying course will have a shoot-off Saturday evening in front of a crowd.

From: tecum-tha Professional Bowhunters Society - Associate Member
Date: 14-May-19

Last year it was the first, so this year there will be the Second TAS Fantasy Target Shoot going on. Will be run Friday and Saturday at 2PM, 3 PM, 4 PM and 5 PM. You can re-enter if you messed up during a previous shoot at a successive shoot time. Re-entry shoot fee is $5 for adults. For rules, procedure, special trophy info:

I wonder who’s going to win the Coon Shoot this year?

TAS Trad Bowhunter Championship May 24, 25, 26, 2019 Farmland Conservation Club Winchester, Indiana

From: Sipsey River
Date: 14-May-19

I will bring some broadheads for that event and my headlamp for the coon shoot.

From: Randy Corder
Date: 15-May-19

No lights for the coon shoot..

From: Clydebow
Date: 15-May-19

I was also going to mention that John. You can only use it to see where you are walking. You may have meant that anyway.

The targets will have glow sticks on them.

From: Sipsey River
Date: 15-May-19

The last coon shoot I shot there in Sept a couple of years ago, everyone used headlights. I guess we will be shooting at glowing targets? Also, what are the rules, restrictions, for the broadheads. I assume they do not allow expandable, correct? 2 blades, 3 blades, weight limits?

From: Clydebow
Date: 15-May-19

John, The regular Farmland club shoot allows flashlights.

There's no weight limit. I have no idea about expandable, but would think no. Glow sticks on targets.

From: Sipsey River
Date: 15-May-19

Thanks Danny

From: tradlongbow
Date: 16-May-19

John, Only fixed blade broadheads in the broadhead shoot.

From: tradlongbow

Lighted nocks are okay!

From: Witherstick

The link aboce will take you to tbe rules and explain what the difference between longbow and modern longbow is. If I remember correctly, the longbow class requires a wooden arrow and no 3 piece bows while the modern longbow allows any arrow type and 3 piece bows. But again, I would need to review the rules again to confirm that.

From: tradlongbow
Date: 19-May-19

Hi Kurt.

• Longbow is 1 or 2 piece with wood arrows. • Modern Longbow is 1, 2, or 3 piece with wood, aluminum, or carbon arrows.

You can register for more than one class.

Sunday morning Longbows, Modern Longbows, and Selfbows shoot the Championship round at 8am, Recurves and Open Class shoot the Championship round at 10am.

From: tradlongbow
Date: 19-May-19

We have shooters coming from South Dakota that I talked to yesterday. There’s also shooters coming from Mexico.
