I used wood bleach on my arrows at the nock end, where the will go.

They looked really bright, but when I put my first coat of minwax poly on it left it darker, maybe really slight yellow.

Does anyone here use wood bleach with a different coating/sealer?

Hmmm. Why the bleach anyhow?

What is wood bleach, and what is "where the will go"

I meant where the cresting will go.

Some sealers will darken or change the underlying color as you have found out.

I would also like to know the 'why' of using wood bleach. Anytime you change initial color of wood it will create a different color when stained.

I gather you were trying to lighten the cap end using the bleach rather than paint? Only finish I have any luck with not darkening the wood is waterbased Polycrillic.

Yes, to lighten the color, it makes the cresting stand out more. I have a couple more to do, I will try the waterbased Polycrillic.

Base coat of bright white Rustoleum and it will almost glow. Don't see why bleach would be needed?
