I do - primarily because they are easy to tiller and my woodworking skills stink! I tend to make a pyramid/mollie hybred with the last 6 inches of limbs narrowing down more than a pure pyramid would do. I don't have any pics but I've killed a half dozen deer with them.

I have made a lot of bows and 95 percent or so have been pyramid, though I don't like the name--the shape is lot more like an obelisk.
They are efficient and, as dgb said, easy to tiller. Lately most of mine have been take-downs, because most of my wood is billet length.
Here's a one-piece.

On closer inspection, that is a take-down.

Perfect tiller Jim! I have not built as many as Jim .But this is as close to achieving perfect deminishing mass that I can wrap my little brain around at this time. The lighter the limbs get , the faster and smoother they can travel. I have no scientific proof . Just what I feel in this type of bow when I shoot it. They are durable , and I agree with what Jim said about them. He's kinda the reason I built my first one. By the way thanks Jim. Arvin
