I use the same form or caul for nearly every bow. Sometimes I move the bow back or forward on caul to get reflex desired.

Yes it bends some at the wiggle but not much. The fact that they are a nightmare to tiller is why avoid those staves if possible. But yes sometimes you still character. What amazed me is the bow had little shock. I guess the extra mas is close to the handle instead of on the ends. Arvin

If a selfbow ain't got no character, it ain't got no identity, no appeal, and might as well just be a glass bow out of a cookie cutter (press).
