For 8 years my hands would not let me draw a bow. All of a sudden the pain has subsided and I picked up my 41# longbow and strength was not there, today I strung my 1965 Shakespeare Kaibab recure athe 45#. I am now an trad guy again. I have missed it so much.

Thankyou for listening to me, just had to tell someone.

CBD oil really helps my arthritis.

Not all CBD is created equal, which one worked for you?

From: dean

Years back something gave out at the base of middle release finger. For years i could not shoot right handed. It finally strengthened up enough that i can shoot some right handed again, but if i keep it up or get carried away with long holds and such the release joints flair up. Getting beat up and old totally sucks.

From another who suffers from arthritis in the wrists and hands I'm happy to hear your doing better. After a period of time the pain does ease, but leaves you with "messed up" body parts. Hope you continue your progess. Joel

That is great news Terry. Wishing you continued progress.

Charlotte's Webb brand is what I use. 4 drops morning and night. I'm amazed. Don't over do it,,, don't need to.

From: Jason D

Glad to hear Terry!

Stopped Shooting last Sept because of bone damage/arthritis in humorous and scapula. Rested. PT. Then started Jim Casto’s target panic trining with 23# bow. It hurt and I struggled to do the 30 draws per day. Tonight I just finished the 30 draws with a 42# bow! Mostly pin free! Feels great to be mending AND I know that I could be too sore to use a 30# bow for the exercises tomorrow. Kinda like watching ones mutual funds go up and down but hopefully the trend keeps showing GROWTH! -for both of us!

CBD oil (Charlott's Web is one of the better ones), Now brand MCT oil (Medium Chain Triglycerides), All organic diet. No sodas, no sugar. Lots of water, no vegetable oils, add LIVE fermented vegetables to your diet. Eat cruciferous Vegis (Broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts) Raw is always better. Google "Anti- inflammatory foods and eat those. Stay away from all processed foods. Eat as far down on the food chain as possible. Shop the outside isles of the grocery store. Lots of water. To borrow a quote I once heard: "Natures solution to pollution is dilution". Organic, grass fed beef, organic fed, pasture raised chicken.

Those changes in lifestyle will not only help arthritis, but many other chronic health problems.

From: nomo

I forgot to mention curcumin and ginger. Both are anti- inflammatory Add a little black pepper with the curcumin to help with absorption.

People don't have arthritis because of lack of arthritis medicine in their body.

you left out venison ? fat free cholesterol red meat mmmm good. I high sided a dirt bike wound out in 5th gear broke my wrist & dislocated my shoulder & broke 3 ribs & it ain't quit hurting since that was 36 years ago. my biggest problem is getting moving. never tried the joint juice stuff maybe I'll give it a try

Happy for you!!!!

Turmeric from Newswars and the fermented with healing mushrooms from Organixx has the highest possible amount of curcumin. I also take Physiotru fish oil, it does not give me those fish burps and it has three Omigas instead of the two. The third helps more with inflammation. This type of fish oil also helps the body produce more of its own cannabidiol, the stuff that make Pot and hemp oil soothe the joints. Although I have never smoked pots or did any kind of drugs, I have been told that very small doses of Oil with THC can help more with pain. He is a well respected naturalpath, I live in fear of losing self control to anything, he assured me, that if you take enough that you feel loopy, you have taken too much and the good effects won't happen. A less is more situation, the same thing apparently goes for the CBD oil as well.

Highly recommend tumeric with black pepper.

I think the active ingredients are curcumin and piperine in a capsule but I also put both on my food.

From: HitorMiss

Awesome news, I share your joy/pain asI have had to deal with it myself.

From: timex

Good for you and welcome back... Take it easy getting started back, so you can stay back :)

From: nomo
Date: 18-Jan-19

You're right Lost Arra. I screwed up and gave the active ingredient instead of the name turmeric. A person can buy a curcumin extract with black pepper. Sorry for the brain fart. All organic, anti-inflammatory foods are good for arthritis.

A good read on 'organic' foods.

From: nomo

Well, explain the above article to the many people who have made huge improvements in their health by nothing more than switching to an more organic, natural diet. I am one.

The conventional food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries are feeling/seeing their profits threatened and eroded by people switching to organic and natural foods so they get people to write propaganda pieces like that.

If one wants to continue feeling miserable and hurting and believes that aches, pains and bad shoulders are just a part of aging then that's their prerogative I guess, but I know first hand what improvements I've made by dietary changes that involve organic food and essential oils and herbs and spices.

Sorry Evergreen, I guess we sort of hijacked your thread. I am happy that you are able to shoot again and hope you are able to continue.

Care to say how you got better.

X2 on nomo's first post. My Dr. basically said the same thing. Glad to hear you're shooting again as well.

Care to share how you got better?

From: Stumpkiller

I have severe osteoarthritis in the neck, degenerated disks, Dupuytren's Contracture in my hands; as well as arthritis from an amputated and reattached right ring finger, broken left ring finger that was untreated for half a year, and the index and middle finger of my left hand I ran under a chainsaw across & halfway through the knuckles. Plus general wear and tear.

After I lopped off the right ring finger in a tractor mishap I switched to shooting traditional left handed for 18 months or so - THAT is an eye-opener for form and style. Still have that left-hand RWHunter just in case.

I shoot BECAUSE it gets me out and moving and forces me to use the bones and muscles.

I seize up if I don't keep moving.
