What is the difference between a Classic Whip, Whip and a Whip HS?

Give Dan Toelke a call. Super guy! Would be happy to explain it to you. Scott

Classic whip has the leather/beaver wrapped handle locator grip. It's very nice. The standard whip has a thumb rest and no leather. Not sure what the hs is. I have shot a few of these bows, and they were all great.

From Dan's blog 08-25-15 HS limb defined The HS mark is applied to the Whip lengths 58" through 64". HS(high speed) is used to describe our Longbow limb that has been taken to maximum reflex/deflex without sacrificing stability, smoothness or quietness. Our other lengths/models(66" Whip and 54"-56" Pika) are designed to this perfect balance we call HS though they are not marked HS as they have not been changed from the original design. Again All our new longbows are what we consider HS weather marked HS or not.

I hope this clarifies any confusion.

Ive had both Whips and HS Whips. At the same weight i can tell you that the HS Whip felt much smoother and actually felt lighter to draw. This was a good design improvement.

Its obvious that this continues in the Pika i shoot and Im sure the Whistlers.

Toelkes are great bows!

Here is a HS Whip with a Classic grip. Best of both worlds. Great bows

I have a Pika with a standard grip and a Whistler with the classic grip. The classic grip with the leather wrap feels larger than the standard grip.

You can get the locator grip wrapped in leather. I much prefer the locator grip. I have arthritis or something I'm my bow hand thumb, thought I was going to have to switch hands shooting, then I bought a Whip with locator grip and my thumb rarely bothers me now. Awesome bows and best grip in the business in my opinion!

The Whip Classic is an outstanding bow. I have never shot the locator grip, but I feel it would be very comfortable and consistent. Maybe more so than the classic. For target I would probably go with the locator grip. For hunting I love the classic beaver tail grip. Either way you can't go wrong with a Whip, or any Toelke. Best of luck.
