A guy at work has one of these old Bear Bearcat take down recurves for sale, I have never seen or heard of these but it is in brand new never been shot condition, he is asking 200 bucks for it, is it a decent bow for the money?

It's a decent fiberglass limb takedown. Bear introduced this when the compounds were the main consideration back in the 70's. It was more or less an entry level bow in a takedown format. Nothing fancy but functional. You don't see lot of them so that itself may present a value of sort. You have to decide how much it's worth to you...if you want it.
With today's market, you can buy a vintage Super Kodiak for around that price. How bad to you want it? If it's for resale, you may not even be able to get that for it if you keep it pristine. Choices. ;)

Started my GF's son on this bow a couple years ago before he stepped up to a Bear Grizzly. Not a bad bow, IMHO $200 is overpriced, have seen them for around $100 +-
