Any A&H longbow shooters out there have the RC recurve riser on their bow, what do you think about that grip, or what is your favorite grip on the 3 piece takedown.

I've owned a recurve riser, but no longer do. Its a fuller grip than the standard grip -- a bit wider through the shelf and grip area than the standard riser. Since it's still cut about 3/16 inch past center, this means, among other things, that the arrow shelf is wider. Though the grip was very comfortable, I found the arrow shelf a little too wide for my liking.
My personal preference is the JK low wrist grip.

I had one of the RC risers when they first came out with them. Shot it very well but I found I had to grip it tight in order to shoot it good, not something I was used to since I normally let the bow settle into my hand and shoot with a looser grip.
Before I sold it, a friend of mine was shooting at one of the local archery shops that did a winter Dart Video league. The deal where you shot 20 yards at a big screen at different footage of critters and a computer kept track of your score. One of their 4 man team couldn’t shoot that week so they asked me if I’d like to shoot with them. They could shoot anytime since the scores were stored for the rest of the league and there was no need to shoot as a group.
To make a long story short, they were compound shooters and I was shooting the RC. I beat all three of them shooting that A&H RC longbow. That was a dozen years ago, they were in shock and a little embarrassed and they still bring it up. I couldn’t believe it either but I’d never tell them that!
Keep in mind an RC riser is longer, 62” limbs will make a 64” bow.
My personal preference is the JK riser, maybe Orion could tell us how it came about being named......

I loved the RC riser for shooting paper and 3D but it just didn’t fit my shooting style as a hunting bow.

I have a standard riser and a RC. I haven't had the RC long but noticed a difference in balance and think I like the RC grip better. What a difference in limb feel with those 2 extra inches. It's the best shooting bow I've owned and I've owned many in 40 years of bowhunting. I do think some of my ILF's with LB limbs will give it a run for it's money though.

Whatever happened to the Apogee riser? Are they still making those?

I have the 3d riser and love it. Wouldn't mind shorter limbs though.

I have the ST riser and love it.Best shooter I've ever had.My other bows collect dust mostly these days. I don't hunt any more. 3d is my thing these days and A&H gets my vote. There's alot of great bows and would never talk bad about what someone likes just happy to finally find "The One".
