Awhile back my sister in CA expressed an interest in hunting with a recurve. She didn’t want to rifle hunt or use a compound and asked me to teach her. Seeing as I had just purchased a Samick Sage and 2 sets of limbs I decided to give it to her. I narrowed and reduced the grip, rounded all of the edges and put more radius on the arrow shelf. I also reduced some of the mass behind the limb pockets. Then I sprayed 5 coats of Minwax clear satin on it. Sorry I don’t have a before photo. Thanks for looking. Lance

You don't need the before photo,I can see a major improvement. Looks waaaaay prettier than a stock Sage. Nice work. P.S. I have a Sage and it is one sweet shooting bow. Your sister is going to be pleased.

That's cool Lance. Nice rework job too! I wish I had family that cared about bow hunting. I do have one daughter that will hunt with me, but I put the bow down when I take her hunting. Not complaining though.

I've done several of them now. It makes them feel like a different bow, for sure. If you want to get fancy, get out your dremel tool and stipple the grip. You can turn that $85 bow into a $90 bow in no time! I actually enjoy tinkering with the things. I just need to come up with a little different pattern so it doesn't get boring.

Brad, If I attempted to stipple the grip I’d turn my $70 bow into a $20 bow! On the serious side though, I did think about it. Thanks, Lance

All dry and waxed up with some Meguiars automotive wax. I put on a velcro rest and a 59 Bear plate. I rec’d an email from her today and she’s excited! Thanks for all the kind words and thanks for looking again! Lance
