These are some American Hornbeam bows that I have made in the past. The snake skin bows are sinew backed. Two are natural with the bark left on one, and the shortest is made patina finish like an old Indian bow.Still trying to learn how to post pics.

Nice bows you made. What are their draw weights?

Nice looking bows. Hornbeam is an underrated bow wood in my opinion. It is one of my favorites. Looks like you do some nice work with it.

Bassman. I'm not very good on computer either. I do a fair amount on my phone though. I don't know how to change your pictures but another thing I find that helps mine is to edit them by cropping them. Remove parts of the pictures that don't do anything for them. That will help make your subject more the object that stands out. It usually kinda blows it up a bit to.

PS HHB is a great bow wood. I've never used the American Hornbeam yet. Nice work and you know I'd like to see them bend.

I can,t find HHB here in western Pa, but American hornbeam can be found here along creek bottoms and such. Thanks for your help and advice.

Your welcome. I looked at those pictures and they look good. I usually find the Hop Hornbeam growing in the same type of growing conditions you find the American Hornbeam

Nice looking bows. Definitely would like to see some at full draw.

The colloquial term is ironwood or muscle wood for American Hornbeam, due to the tree's twisted-like shape. I've not seen Hop Hornbeam in any area around where I live here in the Southern Alleghenies. Not saying there isn't some but I've not noticed any.

Super nice HHB Bows Bassman,

I really like the one on the outside with the bark on it. I don't think there is anything more cool than a wooden bow with the bark still attached. It really says"this used to be a tree" like nothing else. They are all nice though.
