Thanks to a gentleman on here, I have a riser on it's way that I will be Warf'ing (Black bear equivalent).
I've wanted a metal riser that I can try out some things on and this will work nicely. Now I'm trying to decide on limbs.
I've ordered some ILF plates from Hawkeye (who's a good guy) but I'm not married to ILF.
Any suggestions for a decent affordable ILF limb, or even non-ILF? I've been looking at the non-carbon Tradtech Black Max, but perhaps there's something else out there too...

Ive become a huge fan of the bosen limbs on ebay. Alternative archery in the UK is a great place to pick up cheap limbs also. Ive had several pair of the bosen, and several different brands from alt. Archery.

Price has really never been a way to judge performance or even quality. Check Lancaster Archery, they have several choices from $119.00 up. The Tradtech Black Max are $149.00 and will do anything you need, as will all the others.

Watch the classifieds on here and on archly talk. Also, the traditional classifieds on Facebook. You'd be surprised how cheap they sell ilf limbs there.

The best thing about ILF versus Frankenbows is the availability of limbs literally everywhere. If you just use bolt on limbs, you're stuck with those, or something very similar and they aren't as variable or easy to find. Just more variety with ILF.

I use standard Sage limbs on a Black Bear riser and love it. Had to shorten the limbs by about 1/16 inch to fit but others have no problem as is or pop out the bolt hole spacers for more leeway for fit. Also need to reduce the side play a bit and popscicle sticks glued to riser work. Draw weight at 28" is about 4 lbs less than limbs are marked and confirmed that with another user of the combo. New limbs are available for less than $75.

Thanks all for the suggestions.
Alternative archery has some smoking prices for carbon/foam and carbon/wood limbs. I'll be keeping them in mind.
Sounds like the Tradtech's are a good value as well.

Shinkers, this is hard to believe. I ordered a riser from Alternative. At the same time I ordered a number of things stateside. Some of these were back ordered, but the riser got here before the things that weren't back ordered!!!

Since we don't know anything about your shooting ability or preferences, it's kinda like telling you want shirt to buy.
The fact is any production limbs on the market will out shoot you and just about anyone else out there. Sheer performance between between entry level and high end might be 10 fps, maybe. Feel can be a little more different, but again, we don't know what YOU like and since this is going on a warf type system, more variable are in play.
I would go with entry level ILF limbs, get the bow assembled and start shooting, then you can base "upgrades" on YOUR preferences.
Viper out.

Actually in my opinion you will find that you will be tickled pink with a set of limbs like the Axioms or Sebastian Flute Premium plus, or something of that type. The honest truth is that most of us can't shoot well enough to utilize the advantages of expensive limbs, and the performance and durability is far above average.
And, to add to that, I'm not one who is enamored of the whole ILF connection thing. It is at it's core nothing more than a means of attaching limbs to a riser. The tiller adjutment thing is something that I have no use for, and most other folks don't need it either, although if it makes them feel better, that's peachy.
I use ILF limbs, but I remove the fittings so that I can use them as bolt ons. That way I can use ANY limb on my favorite risers. I have a Black Bear riser that I have been shooting since 2014 that I modified to use any bolt on limb ( I came up with a method of aligning the limbs that is easy to use, rock solid, and doesn't require you to make different size limb pocket shims for different limbs) and set up with a descent set of limbs, it will shoot as well as any bow out there custom or factory (and yes that includes my beloved Hoyts) and I have about $150.00 or so in the limbs and riser.

Thank you to everybody here. Lot's of good info.
Viper, I guess I was mostly wondering if entry level limbs are good enough for the average shooter, or whether it's worth it to spend some dough to get something that will last.
I definitely don't think I need to have foam, or carbon for that matter. Just some decent glass/wood limbs, medium to long that will scale around 45#'s so that I can use my current arrows.
But I get what you're saying and I appreciate the input from everybody here.

Shirkers, get a set of the black max limbs. I’ve shot all of the high end custom recurves and these limbs perform as well as any. I liked them so much I bought three sets in different weights.

ILF limbs, even 'entry level', are built for extended practice so I wouldn't worry about durability. If you decide to upgrade there's a large 'used' market out there.

One of the most useful 'tools' in my 'kit is the Lancaster archery catalog. A lot of irrelevant stuff, but an awesome source of information too, and it's *free*.
Looking at used limbs? What did they cost new? Are they a bargain?
Plus arrow specs for most every shaft in existence, tools, targets, etc. etc. etc.
I don't know of a better 'bargain' in archery ;-)

SF Elites now Branded WNS present the best value on the market. Dewayne Martin was on the Podium at Lancaster this year with SF Elites. They are a solid limb.
