If you would like post your Traditional bow kill mounts. Thought it might be fun to see some of our mounts that mean a lot to us. Some of these will be size of deer, some of these will be the first harvests with our Traditional gear , and some of these will be the experience of the hunt we were on . All in fun and keep it positive .

About 6 years ago my wife and kids bought me a Martin L-100 Longbow for Father’s Day . They bought it out of the Sportsman Guide magazine for $135 . This was my first hunt I took it on and got this nice buck. I did the horn mount myself and made the plack .

I had my first 8 point mounted back in the 70s, this was back in the sawdust and paper mache form days, it looks pretty rough now.

I became too cheap to pay for a mount, never had another one mounted, but tacked all the antlers up on the wall of my shop.

A couple of years ago I realized I couldn't remember when or where I had killed all of those bucks so I took all but a couple of the biggest racks off the wall and put them in a washtub in the attic.

You all have some beautiful mounts.

It depends a lot on where you live and when you can hunt I’ve had years I couldn’t get for archery or gun Each state has different laws to like moose is lottery in my state but nothing else is but some states a lot of game is lottery style tags so some can get the chance others can’t I consider it fair by the way not starting that argument just given my take on it I’ve been lucky with a bow and guns but I have seen bigger animals then I’ve taken,,,luck of the draw I’m happy on any clean ethical game taken that I’ve chosen to shoot Some folks are more worried about meat then heads some aren’t I’ll also say I do a lot more small game hunting then big game,,just what I prefer but not really a mountable type of hunting This dry’d Out skull on my wall is as much a trophy to me as my professional mounts because I know how it was taken

(Most know I don't consider compound kills bow kills)

Other walls have windows which I have to wall in for some more mounts LOL.

I have another mount coming in a couple of months. When I get it I will post it. It is not being mounted for the size of the deer but because of the hunt and the experience of that hunt. It was a special hunt for me in several reasons . One of the reasons is that it was my first buck with Longbow that I pulled off with a spot and stalk. Shot him at 20 yards and he only went 8 feet and fell over. I killed him with my Freeman Longbow. Shot it last year and have had him in my freezer, was planning on doing a European mount than a few weeks back said heck I will just have him mounted. Will post his mount when I get it back .
