Anyone hear of this fellow. Blutomeister I couldn't pull up any history on him

What’s he selling?

It’s a Black Widow bow scam. There are about 3 on the classifieds. Pat is the only one that can remove them, and he is away.

Just a thought but when posting about possible scams it would be help to give as much info as possible. I’ve Seen dozens of cryptic post about scammers that are hours or days to unravel

Thanks I asked him why he had no history on the wall and he said he doesn't post on this site. He said he posts on archery talk. Could be I guess. But he's not willing to send mo. So no deal anyhow.

So he was buying your bow and refused to send a form of payment that’s not at all secure and you think that makes him a scammer?

From: John Ryan

DK, that’s usually a pretty good first clue.

I agree 110% with Dkincaid. Too many "scammer" posts with no sound reason to assume as much.

I have a lot of history on this wall and I will not send a MO either unless I REALLY want the item. I can't be bothered paying $7 and postage and taking 45 minutes to drive to the post office and back and stand in line to buy it. And then wait a week until it gets there before the item is shipped...forget it.

PayPal is it for me...it's 2018. One click and it's free, fast and safe.

So I don't see the connection between MO's and someone being a scammer.

If it's lack of history then you solved that by talking to the guy...he knows about archery talk. Did you go look at his handle and posting history over there before you posted on here? That would be the decent thing to do.

Lots of people read posts here and that's it. Does not make then a criminal.

That's not an issue with me...if you buy something off Kijiji you don't know that person either.

And this has nothing to do with the BW scam...he's a buyer, not a seller.

I recently did a transaction with a fellow on here that goes by the handle “cedarmountain “ . He had 0 history on this site and we had a great transaction! Talk to the people and exchange information. Before you deem them a scammer. JMHO

Don't trust Postal Money Orders. At one time they were easy to counterfeit and our local banks had to call in on everyone that I presented before they would deposit it. That may have changed but I wouldn't take a chance with them.

Now my local bank does not charge for the money orders they issue. I stand there and watch them print them up so I know they are good to go.

My suggestions is to do just that, check with your local bank.

Po money orders for me if I'm selling. I take them to the po and cash them and ship the item at the same time. It's the only safe way.

Man, it is a shame it has come to this. I have been dealing with people on here forever. I always give or take a phone call from the person and either a MO or Check( God Forbid). Never had an issue. Knock on Wood;). I always do a search for people and encourage them to do the same on me. Bill

I've had zero problems with all the transactions I've made and I've probably done more than a dozen. This one just didn't feel right and I was just being cautious. I told him I could send references and it didn't matter. Sometimes I just go with my gut feeling. It hasn't failed me yet.

How did he want to pay you?

From: 2 bears

I had to make two trips to the PO to cash a money order. I couldn't believe it when she said she didn't have the cash. I asked why they sold them if they didn't cash them but she was just an employee. I hate them anyway. It seems like the government can mess anything up. They sure don't belong in the banking business. >>>----> Ken

I did a transaction this time last year with a member of the wall with no recent History. I asked him if he was on ebay, and if I could have his handle to view his history Of selling & buying. He did and that gave me a good idea of who he is. His 10 year history with ebay was 100%. I went with that.

How can a postal money order be counterfeit when you purchase it at the post office?

From: r-man
Date: 13-Nov-18

Like GLF said . If Po is real I cash it and mail it in one move. I had trouble setting up my paypal acct. so heck with it

From: John Ryan
Date: 13-Nov-18

Fox, there have been counterfeit money orders that looked like the real thing. Same with counterfeit bills.

From: Jon Stewart
Date: 13-Nov-18

Because the counterfeit M.O.'s are made in someones basement. lol. Think about it. You have no idea where the money order comes from when they send it to you for payment.

It must have been bad because I took in a lot of them when doing a veteran fundraiser (selling shirts) and the tellers had to call in on everyone of them for the reason I posted. Now that may have changed that was a few years ago.

PayPal or Postal Money Order for me. No worries with Postal Money Orders, take it to the Post Office to verify it’s legit and the bow doesn’t ship until that happens. Banks will put a hold on them because of counterfeiting issues so I cash them at the Post Office.

From: Dkincaid
Date: 13-Nov-18

Just buy a fake bow one time with a money order and then call the post office and tell them your story. You will get a whole lot of man that stinks etc but you will eat the loss. You use PayPal you are covered. Each their own but if you will notice not one of the scams on here have Involed PayPal as far as I know. I personally believe that is the very reason we have so many scammers on here they know folks don’t mind taking something other than PayPal

Never had a problem with a postal money order.
