I had a long skinny osage stave and decided to make an English longbow out of it. It's 54#@28" and is 68" long. It has a cow hoof inlaid strike plate and cow hoof tip overlays. The finish is tru oil and the string is D97.

Excellent. I like it. Does the hoof material work pretty much like horn? >>>----> Ken

Thanks for the feedback!
Ken, the hoof material is very similar to horn, maybe a little softer but plenty tough for the job. Tends to come in thinner pieces so it's hard to get deeper nocks with it. That's why I did more of a self nock style instead of cutting the groove across the top.

Love a good ELB. I had a John Strunk cherry bark backed yew that I regret selling to this day.

Thanks, guys!
nineworlds9, I bet! Mr. Strunk makes an amazing bow. I've had the pleasure of working with him in his shop.

Thanks Weylin. I like using horn and antler for bow tips and knife handles. >>>----> Ken
