Does anyone know the recommended brace height for a 62" Browning Explorer 2 recurve?

Recommended is just a starting place so look to between 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 inches for brace on that bow. Yes, that's a wide parameter but that's as is should be. You simply find what works for you and your setup....it's as much a part of tuning as selecting the right arrow.

Had one, shot well at 8 to 8 1/4. Beautiful bows and smooth shooters.

What year is it?

The early ones were marked 62" but were actually 60" nock to nock. That messes a lot of people up.

Measure then buy a string 4" shorter if B-50, then shoot and twist to find your sweet spot.

All I can offer is the above catalog page is spot on regarding my own Explorer experiences with best brace height. I favor higher brace when possible as it negates the need (for me anyway) for an arm guard, and I recall being surprised that my experience has had these Browning's sweet spot brace heights in the 7 1/2" zone, a 1/2" or more LOWER than I would have expected.

Thanks everyone for your input ! I checked the bow's length and it does measure 62" . I've only had the bow a few days but when I strung it using the string that came with it ( continuous loop ), the brace height measured 8&3/4". This seemed high and gave me cause to reach out for advice . I plan on getting a better string and starting the tuning process . Thanks again , Bob

1972...it is 62" AMO.

58" actual length string will work.

Great bows. I have a 1972 Explorer 1.
