Will a 1916 cut to 31 inches with 125 Zwickey work out of a 45lb Thunderhorn longbow?

I would think it would be close enough with aprox. 28" dl.

Do you have a 30” DL? Don’t think they’ll work at that length.

String type, tip weight?

Draw length about 28.5 FF string. Can I make them work with a heavier point or do i need to go to 2016's? I traded for this bow and the guy sent some full length Goldtip 300's with it, but I think they are too stiff. Any advice and help is greatly appreciated! Grits

2016 would be my starting point

1916's spine mid 50's @ 28". They should work cut to 29" but will be too weak at 31". if slightly weak at 29" add about a 1/16" to your strike plate thickness.

Thanks guys! Anybody know anything about the Goldtip 300"s ,they are full length.

A 300 must spine around twice what you need.... because you probably ought to be using 600s.

I shoot 28” 1916s out of my RER marked #55@28” and I draw an inch or so less than you do, so I think you’ve got a line on the right shaft and you probably will be fine with the 125s; just keep dialing down the length ‘til you’re right on.

Or if you’re not up to bare-shaft tuning, then do what Bob tells you to.
