Tried a quick easy fix, you know how well that worked out, maybe should have used Gorilla tape. So back to a conventional rebuild.

Riser in the form, in this case the form has to be built to fit the riser

The bow finished out nice and is a great shooter. I really enjoyed rebuilding this classic.

Full draw pics, featuring my wife shooting.

Wow! Amazing work!

From: Brad Lehmann

Great work James. If I ever break a classic I will just send it your way, because building a form to fix a bow is a really rather extreme measure to save an old bow. But, now that you have the form maybe there are a few more SKs out there needing limbs.

From: M60gunner
Date: 03-Oct-18

Yes, amazing job. If I am viewing the first pics correctly you ground off all the lams to the riser materials? Did that include the white face lam on the riser? It looks like a perfect fit either way.

From: JamesV
Date: 03-Oct-18

M60.............

Yes the white riser overlays were ground off and replaced.

JamesV, thanks, not that I would attempt such a rebuild but good info. Just making the form is an accomplishment in itself.

From: 2 bears

Yes Sir. Anything built can be rebuilt. Just a matter of time and money balanced with what is it worth to you. That was the only way possible for that one. It is more profitable to build and sell a new one but an individual doesn't have those limits.>>>----> Ken

I just got back to civilization and was able to get online and see James's thread here. I want to just say how thankful I am to him for offering to take on this restoration project that so many thought was impossible and that the bow was just destined to be decoration. Now it's just like new and should be around longer than me. Great job......Jim and Thank You. Here is another photo of how the bow looked before James got his hands on it. I thought that his first picture didn't give this thread justice.

Labor of love, can't imagine how much time you have in that repair. But it is sure is a beautiful bow once again. Job well done!

From: 69 super kodiak
Date: 14-Oct-18

There is a 1966 kodiak on ebay that would be a good build.

From: 69 super kodiak

Very interesting. I am glad you shared this rebuild. Great job. Save the form. Maybe take a bow on in the future?

From: 69 super kodiak

Cant think of a better form to make than for a Super Kodiak. I wish more people were so inclined as James.
